How to get the latest pet news without the spam
Don't you hate spam? We do.
We chose the Blog format to disseminate news about pet related topics. Not only do we want to share text-based content like news, reviews, research, and articles, but we're going to stretch it a bit further with audio and video. There are technical terms for those: podcasts (audioblogs) and videoblogs.
With Blogs, you're able to subscribe to what's called the RSS feed. Which is as easy as clicking on the My Yahoo! button in our sidebar. We also have a button for My MSN and other news readers. Newsreaders allow you to choose your news sources and have control over the content you get in your "in-box".
As with anything that is open to public contribution, blogs and news sources can produce unwanted content. Say you are interested in "dog health" and have set up your newsreader with a news source that is all about "dog health" but all of a sudden they start spewing posts about "how to make money" or "how to lose weight", you would just have to unsubscribe from that newsfeed and you'll immediately stop receiving their spam content.
Spam is a real problem that is making email communications less and less effective. Especially when you try to run a newsletter. With newsreaders, we put the control in your hands. Once you see how good our content is, you'll look forward to see more of our material.
As was mentioned in an earlier post, there are web-based newsreaders like My Yahoo! and desktop applications that will do the trick. You'll have to figure out what works best for you. Web-based readers have the advantage of being available from any PC. Application based readers give you more flexibility with filters and custom views.
